The Waldwick Fire Department is shocked and sad to announce the passing of Ex-Chief and Friend Mike Paras. Mike was a proud member of the Waldwick Fire Department. He began his firefighting career in 1972. He held all ranks from Lieutenant to Chief. He was Chief of the Department in 1985, 1986, and 1987. Mike is the Father of Ex-Assistant Chief Anthony Paras, Firefighter Crystal Paras and Husband to Auxiliary Treasurer Jeannie Paras.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday, August 9, 2:00 until 4:00 and 7:00 until 9:00 at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. A funeral mass in Michael’s honor will be held Tuesday, August 10 at 11:00 am at St Luke’s Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ 07423. Interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
